Med., 137, 1142-1162, 1973.Order of authorship in the original publication: Steinman, Cohn. In this paper Steinman announced his discovery of the dendritic cell. In 2011 Steinman received half of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for his discovery of the dentritic cell and its role in adaptive immunity." The other half was awarded to Bruce A. Beutler and Jules A. Hoffmann "for their discoveries concerning the activation of innate immunity."
