Heart transplantation in man: Developmental studies and report of a case.J. Amer. med. Assoc., 188, 1132-40, 1964.Heart transplant from a chimpanzee into a man; unsuccessful. Hardy was expecting the donor heart to be obtained from a relatively young patient dying of brain damage, but the patient went into terminal myocardial failure before a human organ could be obtained.
