A new apparatus for electrophoretic analysis of colloidal mixtures.Trans. Faraday Soc., 33, 524-531, 1937.Between 1931 and 1937, with financial support from the Rockefeller Foundation, Tiselius developed his "Tiselius apparatus" for moving boundary electrophoresis. In this paper he demonstrated that electrophoresis separated protein fractions into four bands that he named: 1) albumin, 2) alpha, 3) beta, 4) gamma.
