New mode of preparing a spirituous solution of chloric ether.Amer. J. Sci. Arts, 21, 64-65; 22, 105-06, 1832.Guthrie in America, Liebig in Germany, and Soubeiran in France discovered chloroform independently of one another. Guthrie discovered the modern method of making chloroform by distilling alcohol with chlorinated lime. The second paper has the title: On pure chloric ether.
